The Jörniverse
The Jörniverse was founded in February 2026 as a non-profit organisation. Our mission is to offer game devs an idyllic retreat from our increasingly busy lives.
We’re currently still in the build-up stage, though we have made good progress on both our homely accommodation rooms and our relaxed working space, which we hope will be the perfect place to facilitate organic collaboration between our guests
Now, we are gearing up for our soft launch in October. We then plan to be ready for full capacity in early Q1 2027.
We aim to see The Jörniverse carefully expand, with quality always taking precedence over quantity. Our next mission after getting things up-and-running will be to build a kitchen. We then aim to secure funding to re-open the doors of our Cinema to the public.
Em
Em at The Jörney Café
Background
Em is the Site Manager and CEO of The Jörniverse. She’s probably the person to ask if you need anything from a new key to a ventilation guy. In short, she’s the glue keeping everything together.
She grew up around Alvesta in southern Sweden, and went on to study computer graphics and prop making in the North. Em then began working as a manager at a youth centre.
Later she moved to Jörn to work in the games industry and supported projects like Mind Detonator and FutureLab, before making a leap of faith to open The Jörney Café.
Shortly after, Em learned that the Mind Detonator building she had poured her heart into was at risk of becoming a call centre. But she soon found a way to plant the seeds for an indie game dev retreat to take root in its place.

Background
Harry is the community manager of The Jörniverse! He oversees the Discord, arranges activities, and keeps our socials active.
Originally hailing from Cambridge, UK, Harry emigrated to snowy Sweden after obtaining a degree in Screenwriting.
In the years in between, Harry helped unionise Foodora, studied programming, and moved to Jörn to open a game studio.
During his indie dev tenure, Harry has hustled hard to grow an international network, attend conferences, and has become somewhat of a local spokesperson for the cozy games genre.
His game, Pawsta, is currently in active development.
